Policy decisions made at City Hall, state capitals, and Capitol Hill directly shape how transportation businesses operate, compete, and grow. Yet too many small operators sit on the sidelines—until a regulation hits their bottom line.

This three-part webinar series gives transportation owners and executives a clear, practical roadmap for effective advocacy. From understanding how lobbying really works to building lasting relationships with policymakers and confidently making “the ask,” this series moves you from awareness to action.

    Sessions:

    March 20 | 1:00pm - 2:00pm ET

Session 2: Money Talks: Who Really Has a Seat at the Table?

Advocacy requires resources, and misunderstanding the role of money in politics often leads small businesses to disengage altogether. This session explains how money flows through the political system and the lawful role Political Action Committees (PACs) play in advocacy and elections. Participants will learn the difference between campaign contributions, PACs, and independent expenditures; how PACs support candidates aligned with industry priorities; and the strict legal and compliance rules governing political giving. The session also dispels common myths about “pay-to-play” and explains how transparency and collective action help small businesses compete with larger interests.

    April 17 | 1:00pm - 2:00pm ET

Session 3: From City Hall to Capitol Hill – Lobbying 101 for Transportation Leaders

The final session brings it all together, focusing on how advocacy strategies differ—and align—across local, state, and federal levels of government. Participants will learn how policy moves through each level, where decisions are made, and how transportation leaders can engage effectively at every stage. This session emphasizes practical tactics, relationship-building, and long-term advocacy strategies that support business sustainability and industry success.

Because if you’re not at the table, someone else is deciding your future.
